Welcome to the official website of the Alabama-Coushatta Tribe of Texas. Thank you for visiting our site, and we hope you will enjoy browsing and learning the history of our people. We are a proud people who has occupied this area since the late 1700's, before Texas became a state. We want you to learn about our Tribe and feel this website is a tool to gain vital information about the Alabama-Coushatta Tribe of Texas. Take a look at our events calendar and make plans to join us for one or all of our special events. Spend some time in our campground facilities to relax, or enjoy fishing in our 26-acre TomBigBee Lake.

For those who inquire about our tourism facilities, we regret to inform you that we no longer operate the tours, museum or gift shop. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause for you and your family.

Tribe donates $100,000 to Polk County College



Alabama-Coushatta Tribal Council Chairman Carlos Bullock presented a $100,000 check to Martha Watson, co-chair of the Polk County Higher Education and Technology Foundation fund-raising committee Monday at the tribal administration office. The Tribal Education Board and Tribal Council combined resources for the donation. Attending the ceremony were Andy Evans, William Sylestine, Roland Poncho, County Judge John Thompson, Kim Williams, Pete Polite, Karen Williams, Keith Stapleton, Joe Thomas Jr., JoAnn Battise, Kyle Williams, Delores Poncho, Janie Rhinesmith, Melanie Battise and McClamrock Battise. Also recognized during the ceremony were 1st Chief Oscola Clayton Sylestine and 2nd Chief Colabe III Clem Sylestine.

Labor Day Softball Tourney

Make plans to join us during Labor Day weekend for the Fast Pitch Softball Tournament, September 3 - 5, 2010.
Teams from Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Mississippi will be competing for the title of Champions. First, Second and Third Place prizes will be awarded.  Food available for sale on the grounds.  For more information or to enter a team,

Alabama-Coushatta Tribe hosts U.S. Congressman Kevin Brady Luncheon

LIVINGSTON – The Alabama-Coushatta Tribe of Texas hosted U.S. Rep. Kevin Brady on Saturday, July 24, 2010 at the Tribe’s Special Events Center.  Rep. Brady visited with members of the Tribal Council, as well as local Tribal members, elected officials and other business and community leaders from the region.
